Carrie Ann Kemp, Student Director
Carrie Ann worked for several years as a paramedic on LifeFlight and in the Emergency Room. In addition to teaching several of our skills workshops, she will be your main contact during the application process and while you are here.
Supervising Midwives
Suzanne Smith, CPM LDEM
Suzanne has been a midwife since 1994, and was the first licensed midwife in Utah. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Midwifery from Midwives College of Utah and was an instructor for and Academic Dean of that institution for several years.
Trinette Thompson, CPM LDEM
Trinette has been midwifing since 2004. Her specialty is herbal and homeopathic remedies in pregnancy and childbirth.
Jeanetta Booth, CPM LDEM
Jeanetta received her training at Casa de Nacimiento in El Paso, TX where she rose through the ranks from student to Senior Midwife. Jeanetta speaks Spanish, and has outstanding skills and a very gentle manner. She lives in Salt Lake City.
Sarah Carter, CPM
After many years as a chidlcbirth educator (Birthing From Within) and a doula extraordinaire, Sarah finally took the plunge and became a midwife. She is very easy to talk to and really knows how to support a woman in labor.
In addition to our supervising midwives, several other community midwives call our students to assist them with their deliveries. While these midwives and births are not actually a part of our program, they help broaden the experiences you can obtain while you are here, as well as the styles of midwifery you are exposed to.
